Description

ENKO bacteriophage is a mixture of sterile filtrates of phagocytes of the following bacteria:

  • Shigella flexneri (1, 2, 3, 4, 6 serovans) and Sh. sonnei
  • Salmonella (typhimurium, enteritidis, heidelberg, newport, cholera suis, oranienburg, Dublin, anatum)
  • Enteropathogenic Escherichia coli
  • Staphylococcus aureus
  • ENKO bacteriophage is a transparent white or yellowish liquid

Pharmacologic effect

Causes specific lysis of following bacteria species:

Shigella flexneri, shigella sonnei, Salmonella typhimurium, Salmonella enteritidis, Salmonella choleraesuis, Salmonella oranienburg, Salmonella Newport, Salmonella Dublin, Salmonella anatum; enteropathogenic Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus.

Prescription

ENKO bacteriophage is used for treatment and prophylaxis of purulent-septic and enteric infections caused by the above-mentioned microorganisms.

Indictions

Gastrointestinal infectious diseases: gastroenterocolitis, dysbacteriosis (bacterial overgrowth syndrome); cholecystitis, staphylococcal toxic infection; dysentery.

Recommended doses of ENKO bacteriophage are as follows:

Infants 0-6 months 5ml 1 time, 30 min before feeding 10ml once a day
Kids 6-12 months 5ml 2 times, 30 min before feeding 10ml once a day
Kids 1-3 years 5ml 3 times, 1 hour before the meal 20ml once a day
Children 3-8 years 10ml 2-3 times, 1 hour before the meal 30ml once a day
Children older than 8 years, adults 20 ml 2-3 time, 1 hour before the meal 40ml once a day

Treatment should continue for 6-10 days.

Before taking ENKO bacteriophage, it is recommended to take a glass of basic mineral water (or 2-3% solution of baking soda).

Contra-Indications:Β There are no contraindications ever observed for ENKO bacteriophage. The use of ENKO bacteriophage does not exclude concomitant use of antibiotics or any other medicine.

Side Effects: No side effects have been revealed during the usage of Enko bacteriophage.

Special Precautions:Β Before use, the ampoule must be shaken. The liquid must be clear, without sediment.

If the ampoule is damaged, or if the liquid is cloudy, the preparation should not be used.

The preparation should be used immediately after the ampoule or flask has been opened, Once opened it should not be saved for later use.

Packaging and Store Conditions:Β The preparation is presented in 5 ml ampoules.
